
Why You Can’t Just Put a Regular Heater in a Steam Room
Putting high voltage and steam in the same room is a recipe for disaster. If you try to use a standard infrared lamp in a shower or sauna, it’s going to short out. Period. That’s why we build our setups with IP65 housings and explosion-proof quartz. It’s about keeping things safe when things get wet. It’s called thermal shock, and it happens in a heartbeat. To stop that, we use a special quartz blend with a protective outer skin. If the inner tube ever does crack, the outer shell catches the pieces. It keeps the heating filament away from the water and keeps the whole circuit isolated. You don’t have to worry about a shattered bulb turning your relaxing shower into a hazard. Keeping the water out You’ll see the “IP65” label on our gear. In plain English? It means the box is dust-tight and can handle water jets hitting it from any direction. We don’t just rely on the box, though. We seal every single wiring entry point with high-temp silicone gaskets. Without those, steam sneaks into the electrical terminals. Once that happens, you get corrosion, sparks, and eventually, a dead heater. The gaskets keep the guts of the machine bone-dry. A few things to keep in mind during install These units pump out a lot of heat. That’s the goal—you want that immediate, cozy warmth the second you step out of the water. But there’s a trade-off. The more power you pump in, the hotter the housing gets. Just make sure whatever wall you’re mounting it to can take the heat.
